Winter may be coming, but that doesn’t mean we stop riding! It’s important to stay on the bike and keep your fitness up before the road racing season begins. What better way to enjoy training than with friends?
For the month of November:
WHEN? Every Thursday, starting on November 7. Roll out at 6pm from Upper Echelon Fitness and Rehabilitation on NW 17th & Quimby, aim to return around 7:30pm. You’ll be able to leave bags/change of clothes at UEFR if you need to. No ride on Thanksgiving, Nov. 28.
WHERE? Route for November 14.
WHAT? Bring your road bike with fenders, front and rear lights, helmet, spare tubes, and visible clothing. Be prepared for any weather, we ride even if it’s raining!
WHO? This is a ride for any woman who wants to join! The goal is to challenge yourself a little bit in the winter time to prepare for the race season and get used to riding in an organized group. It won’t be race-pace by any means, and will average 15-18mph most weeks (though slower on hills). This is a no-drop, no woman left behind ride and we will regroup at the top of hills and at any turns.
There is not much better than weeknight racing in Oregon at our own Portland International Raceway. Can you even believe it’s August already? August is the last month of summer PIR racing. It’s a good time to enjoy the summer nights and if you haven’t been out or have been racing short track a great way to continue to improve your fitness before cross starts!
First Mondays have unofficially been THE night to hit the track, larger numbers and teams show up to set the stage for the monthly series. This year Let’s Race Bikes is making first Monday’s officially Ladies Night! Here is what’s happening this year:
- Women only clinics sponsored by Upper Echelon Fitness & Rehabilitation. Clinic starts at 5:45pm. Please arrive early to register, use the bathrooms, and be completely ready to race.
- Novice Women’s Category. Head to the line at 6:15p for the novice race, if enough women are signed up a separate women’s race will be held!
- FREE Race Entries provided by Let’s Race Bikes and the team at Monday PIR (Each First Monday we will be giving away 10 entries for Senior Women and Cat 4.) Enter below.
